Preparation for a Mammogram:
It is best to wear a comfortable, two-piece outfit since most patients are asked to change into a gown. Try to avoid the application of deodorant, perfumes, or lotions on the day of the exam. These hygiene items often cause artifacts (undesirable external “marks”) on the image and can obscure pathology. Otherwise, there are no restrictions before or after the exam.
